A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER

 

My name is Hector Gonzales.

 

I am a father. A ceremonial leader. A volunteer firefighter. A son. A brother. And someone who almost lost everything that mattered to him.

 

For years, I lived in ways that moved me further from who I truly was. The noise of life — the pain, the pressure, the patterns — pulled me away from my family, my purpose, and myself. I did not fall apart all at once. I drifted. And drifting can be the most dangerous thing of all.

 

What brought me back was not one moment. It was a thousand small decisions. It was prayer. It was sitting with fire. It was learning to be still long enough to hear the truth. It was community. It was ceremony. It was the earth beneath my feet reminding me where I came from and what I was made for.

 

This church was born out of that return.

 

WHO WE ARE

 

The Native American Church of the Coastal Bend is a nature-based spiritual and community organization rooted in prayer, family, ceremony, sobriety, service, healing, and reconnection with the Earth. We are based in South Texas, but our reach extends to anyone who is ready to do the work.

 

We are not a religion. We are not a cult. We are not a trend.

 

We are a community of real people — fathers, mothers, veterans, recovering individuals, spiritually curious souls — who are committed to living with intention, discipline, and love.

 

We provide a safe, grounded space where people can:

 

Reconnect with themselves and with nature. Experience prayer, ceremony, and sacred practice. Learn traditional teachings rooted in ancestral wisdom. Practice discipline and build healthier daily rhythms. Become better fathers, mothers, and community members. Slow down and remember what actually matters.

 

OUR BELIEF

 

We believe healing is not a product you buy. It is a practice you commit to.

 

It begins with personal responsibility. It grows through honest community. It deepens through prayer, nature, and sacred living.

 

We believe that real change starts at home — with how you wake up, how you treat your family, and how you move through your day. When one person heals, they create ripples. Those ripples reach their family. Their family reaches the community. The community reaches the world.

 

This is not idealism. This is how it works.
